  1. I was also thinking in terms of atrophoderma. But how do we categorize this inflammatory adult atrophoderma? Idiopathic atrophoderma of Pasini and Pierini (IAPP) is an asymptomatic and often associated with pigmentation. Atrophoderma vermiculata is a rare genodermatosis with usual onset in childhood, characterized by a “honey-combed” reticular atrophy of the cheeks. Linear atrophoderma of Moulin is a distinctive disease originally described in 1992 and characterized by acquired, mildly atrophic, non-sclerotic, slightly hyperpigmented lesions following the lines of Blaschko. Atrophoderma elastolytica discreta is the clinicopathologic name for a unique entity first described in a patient with cutaneous lesions simulating atrophoderma of Pasini and Pierini but coupled with histopathologic changes of anetoderma.
